  • ‘3D Modeling Concepts and Principles’ speech at the new Oakland campus of the San  Francisco Sate University Multimedia Center.
  • Wrote two Artist’s View columns for Game Developer Magazine.  July 2000 – “Beauty and the Beast – Morphing Mayhem” and August 2000 “Bump and Shine – Getting Down with New 3D Hardware Effects”.  Both articles are in-depth technical investigations of cutting edge real-time 3D art production.
  • Held 3 sessions of roundtable discussions at Game Developer’s Conference 2000 on facial animation and lip sync.

Lead Artist, Vector Graphics (www.vectorg.com), 27A Embarcadero Cove, Oakland,CA 94606. (510) 535-2331. February 1997 to May 1999. Vector Graphics is a real-time 3D art production house that specializes in technology demos for new hardware and artwork for computer games. 

  • Promoted to Lead Artist in October of 1997.
  • Designed, modeled, textured and animated 3D models for real-time applications, including environments, objects, buildings, and characters - both realistically human and fantastically alien.
  • Specified deliverables and set up schedules for completion of artwork.
  • Managed art production for numerous major projects with full responsibility for meeting milestones and deadlines.
  • Worked directly with clients and programmers to import and debug artwork in often previously untested applications.
  • Trained two new artists in real-time 3D modeling using 3D Studio Max.
  • Developed new procedures for creating artwork to take advantage of new real-time technologies (i.e. animated lightmaps, bump mapping and environment maps).
  • Created artwork within the working parameters of an existing game engine.
  • Created the Vector Graphics web site.
  • Held a roundtable discussion at the 1997 Computer Game Developer’s Conference on the differences between different 3d modeling packages.
  • Spoke at Mills College and Max User’s Group on modeling real time 3D character heads.

Other Work Experience:
Restoration Artist, Claremont Rug Company, 6087 Claremont Ave., Oakland, CA 94618. (510) 654-0816. May 1995 to January 1997. Worked in the Restoration Department repairing and restoring antique Persian rugs. Responsibilities included: reweaving foundation, re-knotting pile, end-stopping, selvage, painting, color matching, securing, and adding fringe. An eye for detail, fine craftsmanship and color knowledge were emphasized.
